U.S. Army Golden Knights
From heart-pounding skydives to precision landings that’ll leave your jaw on the ground, the U.S. Army Golden Knights are back to thrill Dayton! This elite team of paratroopers—originally formed in 1959—represents the absolute best in military parachuting. Based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 16-member team travels in their signature Fokker C-31A Troopship, and when they jump, crowds can't look away. Their canopy work and sky-high choreography are as inspiring as they are exhilarating.
💡 Dayton Connection:
Did you know that freefall parachuting has roots right here in Dayton? Army Lt. Harold R. Harris made the first successful emergency bailout using a parachute at Old McCook Field in 1922. And for decades, Wright Field (now part of Wright-Patt) was a hub for parachute tech research. So when you’re watching the Knights soar, remember—this airborne excellence has deep local roots!
P-51 Mustang - "By Request"
Honor history in flight with the CAF Red Tail Squadron's P-51C Mustang "By Request", a powerful tribute to the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. This restored WWII-era aircraft represents the courage, skill, and determination of the famed 332nd Fighter Group, known for their iconic red tails.
💡 Fun Fact
After serving as a training aircraft during WWII, this P-51C spent over 40 years on display at Montana State University before being restored to flying condition in 2001.
TORA TORA TORA!
Step back in history with TORA TORA TORA!, a powerful and dramatic reeactment of the events of December 7, 1941. This unforgettable performance replicates the attack on Pearl Harbor with replica Japanese aircraft, including Zero fighters, Kate torpedo bombers, and Val dive bombers, accompanied by realistic explosions, fire, and smoke.
💡 Fun Fact
The aircraft used un the original Tora! Tora! Tora! film were later donated to the Commemorative Air Force in 1972, leading to the creation of this iconic air show performance that still captivates audiences today.
Kyle Fowler
Making his Dayton Air Show debut, pilot Kyle Fowler is set to impress with a performance that's as unique as his aircraft. Flying the eye-catching Long EZ, Kyle delivers a smooth, high-speed routine that highlights precision flying and distinctive design. Starting at just 12 years old, Kyle went on to earn his Private Pilot's License at 21, followed by his Commercial Pilot's License in 2015. Today, he performs full-time across the United States and Canada, bringing his signature style to audiences nationwide.
💡 Fun Fact:
Kyle's 1986 Long EZ may not perform traditional aerobatics, but it can cruise at speeds up to 184 mph and reach a top speed of 230 mph--making it one of the most unique aircraft on the circuit.
Ground Displays
In addition to the performers, an extensive range of aircraft will be featured in the ground displays. A few of the scheduled aircraft include the C-17, KC-135, F-35A, T-6 Texan, Douglas DC-3, and C-5M Super Galaxy.
